An elevated Alpine fondueHow to plan dinner in your chalet or home
- Share your location, date and guest count. Enquiries are welcome for Zermatt, St. Moritz, Gstaad, Verbier and Crans-Montana; other locations are discussed individually.
- Describe your kitchen, access and dining space. Ask your host about external chefs and, for asado, outdoor fire rules.
- Choose a menu and drinks package, or ask for advice. Share allergies and dietary needs before a menu is agreed.
- Review the complete proposal, including equipment, service, cleaning and booking conditions. An enquiry does not reserve a date.
Questions before hiring a private chef
Is there a minimum or maximum number of guests?
No fixed minimum guest count or maximum group size is published for these packages. Form options do not guarantee capacity. Share your actual guest count so the chef can confirm the kitchen, staffing and complete proposal.
What happens to an asado if it rains?
Rain, wind or local fire restrictions can prevent outdoor cooking. Agree a suitable alternative and any postponement conditions before booking. Indoor asado or operation in every weather condition is not guaranteed.
Can I request an alcohol-free dinner?
Tell the chef before booking. Omakase at CHF 150 and fondue at CHF 120 exclude drinks; fondue is BYOB. Asado at CHF 180 includes Malbec. Replacements, changed prices or alcohol-free choices for the CHF 250 package require confirmation.
Are children’s prices or a children’s menu available?
Separate child prices and a children’s menu are not published. Share ages, numbers and dietary needs. The chef confirms what is possible and the agreed price before booking; free places or discounts are not assumed.
How many courses does omakase include?
A fixed number of courses and permanent menu are not published. Seasonal ingredients shape the omakase; dishes and dietary requirements are confirmed before booking. Do not assume particular fish or dishes are guaranteed.
What are the cancellation, deposit and payment terms?
Ask for the cancellation conditions, deposit, payment deadlines and payment method in your written proposal before committing. This page does not promise free cancellation, a particular refund or a specific payment method.
Are travel, extras and VAT included?
The site publishes package prices per person. Confirm travel, extra equipment and VAT treatment in the complete proposal for your property. Request the final total and included services before booking; example totals do not guarantee all possible extras are included.
What does a private chef at home mean here?
You enquire about an on-site dinner at your home, chalet or suitable holiday rental. Choose asado, omakase or fondue and agree the practical details with the chef. This is not a restaurant reservation or accommodation rental.
How much does a private chef cost for one evening?
Fondue is CHF 120 per person; omakase CHF 150 without drinks or CHF 210 with sake pairing; asado CHF 180 with Malbec or CHF 250 with unlimited drinks during the two-hour experience. The table shows package totals for six guests.
Can I hire a chef for a birthday dinner at home?
Yes, by enquiry. Share your date, location, guest count and preferred experience. The menu and arrangements are agreed personally. Decorations, a birthday cake and additional event services are not automatically part of the dinner.
What are good birthday dinner ideas for adults or family?
Asado combines participation around the fire with a shared feast. Omakase is a chef-led Japanese menu. Fondue is a relaxed Alpine gathering with your own drinks. Share different dietary requirements before deciding on the experience.
Can I enquire about a Christmas or company Christmas dinner?
A private Christmas meal can be discussed using one of the three dinner formats. Share the date, property and guest count. Availability, kitchen suitability and arrangements are personally confirmed; no special Christmas menu or open date is promised here.
Which experience suits a romantic dinner or anniversary?
A private omakase can suit a quiet evening with a Japanese menu; a shared fondue may also fit. Share the occasion and number of guests so the chef can confirm feasibility in your property.
Can I arrange a family celebration or private company dinner?
These occasions can be discussed. Asado has an interactive element, omakase follows the chef’s menu and fondue is a sociable meal. Group size, dietary needs and available space need confirmation before booking.
Does chalet catering mean daily meals or food delivery?
Here it means a private dining experience with the chef in your accommodation: asado, omakase or fondue. Food delivery, buffets, daily breakfast and full-board weeks are not described in these dinner packages. Discuss any different scope first.
Private chef or restaurant: which should I choose?
A private dinner keeps your own group in your accommodation with arrangements agreed with the chef. It requires a suitable kitchen and access. For restaurant dining, book directly with the restaurant; this service does not make restaurant reservations.
Can the chef cook in my holiday apartment?
It depends on the kitchen, space, access and house rules. Send a description or photos and your guest count. Outdoor asado also needs property permission, suitable weather, compliance with local restrictions and a safe setup.
What kitchen equipment, crockery and glasses are needed?
Describe the hob, work surfaces, refrigeration and dining space. Agree crockery, glasses, setup, service and cleaning before booking. Equipment requirements depend on your menu; suitability is not guaranteed for every kitchen.
Can I request a cooking class with dinner?
An interactive masterclass is part of the Argentine asado, covering fire, cuts and chimichurri before the shared meal. Participation and scope are agreed with the chef. A standalone class without dinner is not promised.
Which drinks are included?
Asado at CHF 180 includes one bottle of Malbec from award-winning Argentine wineries per two guests. CHF 250 includes unlimited drinks for the two-hour experience, with selection agreed ahead. Omakase is CHF 150 without drinks or CHF 210 with sake. Fondue is CHF 120, BYOB only.
What does BYOB mean for fondue?
Bring your own drinks. The CHF 120 per-person price covers the fondue experience without drinks. No additional drinks package or wine pairing is offered for fondue.
How long does asado last and when is preparation done?
The guest experience lasts two hours and the chef plans four hours of preparation. Agree any property access needed for preparation or setup. The site does not assume all four hours take place in your kitchen.
Can you accommodate vegetarian guests, allergies or intolerances?
Share every requirement before booking. The chef confirms what is feasible for your chosen experience. Do not assume a particular adaptation or an allergen-free preparation until it has been agreed.
Do you cover Zermatt, St. Moritz, Gstaad and Verbier?
Enquiries are welcome for Zermatt, St. Moritz, Gstaad, Verbier and Crans-Montana. Other locations are discussed individually. Travel, property access and dates are checked before a proposal; no local office is implied.
How early should I book, and are last-minute dinners possible?
Enquire as early as you can with your date, property and guests. Short-notice enquiries can be made, but there is no live availability calendar or same-day guarantee. The chef confirms whether the date is possible.
When is my dinner confirmed?
The form and WhatsApp start an enquiry. Agree the date, accommodation, guests, menu, drinks, practical arrangements and complete quote. A booking exists only after personal confirmation under the agreed booking conditions.
